So I’m posting up som of my earlier animations. Pretty much everything there is school related.
Final from CG animation I This was my final for Comp anim I. It was this class that showed me I really don’t like doing 3D but I do like LIGHTING. LOL. I modeled the trees in Maya and painted the rest in photoshop. I’m still getting into using the comp more. >_> Traditional is still better I don’t care what anyone says.

PROJECT INTRODUCTION -
“The Wonderful Mr. Fancy-hat” is an idea for a series of shorts set to my favorite pieces of classical music, most of which are ballet. The story centers a magician, Mr. Fancy-hat, and his attempts to win the heart of a girl named Lily. A long the way he picks up a few friends, a mischievous rat named “Mousey” and his side kick an enchanted coat hanger, he has no name.
Courting this young waitress is no easy task though considering that Mr. Fancy-hat must contend with the villainous wizard Mr. Bloodstone.
Here are the character designs for Mr. Fancy-hat and Lily.

So I am revamping my Crow and Flower idea. I want to specialize in feature animation so I’ve adapted the original concept to fit that goal of mine.
The NEW Story -
Flower is an old woman taking care of her child’s baby, the parents passed away. She works as baker in a small town not too far from a deep large and magical forest. One day while attending to a customer she leaves the child bundled up on the table, and a flock of birds from burst into kitchen and steal bread and the child, having mistaken it for a loaf. Seeing the birds leave with her bread she runs back into the kitchen only to find her grandchild gone. Thus her journey into the forest to find the child begins.
Meanwhile in the forest the birds change into semi-human forms, and realize their mistake, but with town on high alert from the kidnapping it is too dangerous for them to return the child. That said, Tree King, the ruler of the forest orders that the child stay with crow, since he was in charge of getting the bread but not the one who actually took the baby, until the can figure out how to safely return him.

So in order to get what i wanted done on time I had to change of to the computer, but I still would like to do a piece completely traditionally.
There was more I wanted to do towards the end but i ran out of time. I’d really like to refine this project and make it thesis worthy. Sorry, I couldn’t figure out how to stop the changing aspect ratio.
TO BE CONTINUED!!???

Due to the set backs and problems I encountered, as well as increased time constraints, I’ve decided to modify my project, for my final piece I will be turning a “base” animation of the beginning half of the story. This base animation would be what I used as my guide to improve upon if I decide to pursue this story as my senior thesis, otherwise I’ll finish it on my own time. My final project will be a fleshed out “draft” for a more refined piece that I can develope in my remaining time at CCAD.
Here is the completed Scene one: Completed Scene 1 Draft

I tried to start animating the first scene of the animation however do to various problems that I encountered boning the character I was unable to even start moving the character. Some of the problems I had were that the bones for whatever reason would not moved the part of the body it was suppose to while in other instances moving the bones would severally distort the figure from pulling on parts that the bone was not attached to. Another problem I had was that we could not seem to move the bones and the body parts together. I think this may be due to the fact that the character was drawn in another program and imported in.
One to clarifing matters with the animatic. I thought I had mentioned this before but there seems to be some confusion. There will be more than just walking. There are intercuts of Flower looking around, of the crow watching her (as well as following her) and close ups. There is also some animation of the tree. I just wanted to get the cycles (the walking) of the character fleshed out first then go in and put in the additional layers as well as the close ups etc. I’m sorry if I confused anyone with the animatic, but that was just go get the positioning of Flower moving through the tree. I tried to put in bits of her looking around, which will later cut in to a closer view, but I guess it didn’t read well. Again I apologize for the confusion.
Here is the bottom most layer of the above shot background, if I get all the major things done in time I flower field will be added. This will go in last because the flowers will have to move apart then the character is going through.
